Hobart burlesque company Miss Kitty’s Meow will stage its mid-year Burlesque Showcase across two nights this Friday and Saturday at the Moonah Arts Centre in Tasmania’s south.
The event, running on 24 and 25 July, features a cast of emerging and established performers drawn from the local burlesque community. Doors open at 8pm each night, with the show starting at 8.30pm and running for approximately 110 minutes including a 20-minute interval.
Each night will present a different line-up of acts, spanning classic glamour routines through to modern and theatrical performance styles.
Tickets And Pricing
Tickets are available across three tiers. Concession tickets are priced at $35 for valid concession card holders, general admission sits at $45 and VIP seating is $50. Companion card holders can attend at no cost.
All bookings are final, and tickets are non-refundable, though they can be transferred to another guest. Seating is unallocated, with the exception of VIP ticket holders who receive reserved seats.

Venue And Accessibility
The Moonah Arts Centre is located at 23-27 Albert Road, Moonah, TAS 7009. The venue has accessible parking at the front of the building, an accessible entrance and a hearing loop. Unisex and accessible toilets are available on site.
Metro buses service Main Road Moonah, approximately five minutes’ walk from the venue, and run at regular intervals. Taxi ranks are also nearby.

The show is classified as an 18+ event and involves partial nudity, coarse language and adult themes. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available for purchase from the Moonah Arts Centre bar.
A Long-Running Hobart Institution
Miss Kitty’s Meow, based at 62 Cambridge Road in Bellerive, has operated as a burlesque school and performance company in southern Tasmania for more than 18 years. The company marked its 15th anniversary in August 2023 with a two-night showcase at the Peacock Theatre, Salamanca Arts Centre.
The organisation runs a regular schedule of classes and events throughout the year, including its student showcases at Moonah Arts Centre, the recurring Burlesque After Dark cabaret series and the annual Blues and Burlesque Beats production at the Peacock Theatre.
Its performers and graduates have appeared across a range of venues in Hobart and beyond, including the Salamanca Arts Centre, The Grand Poobah, the Palais Theatre in Franklin and Longford RSL.
National Presence
The company’s Lead Performer, Grace Cherry, has maintained a presence on the national burlesque circuit. Cherry appeared at the Prime Time Burlesk Festival in Sydney in May this year and is scheduled to perform at the Australian Burlesque Festival in Newcastle in October, as part of the festival’s Big Tease Soiree event at Flamingos Live.
Cherry has previously appeared at the Perth International Burlesque Festival, the Australian Burlesque Festival on the Gold Coast and the Big Tease Gala in Melbourne.
What Comes Next
The Burlesque Showcase is the first in a busy second half of the year for Miss Kitty’s Meow.
A Mini Meow Cabaret is scheduled for 29 July at the Hidden Theatre at Kickstart Arts. That event, running from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, is pitched as an intimate evening featuring new performers and students in a smaller venue setting.
The company’s Blues and Burlesque Beats production returns to the Peacock Theatre over the weekend of 29 and 30 August, combining live blues music with burlesque performance across two nights.
A Burlesque After Dark show is set for 3 October at the Founders Room in the Salamanca Arts Centre, running from 8.30pm to 10.30pm.
The year wraps up with another Burlesque Showcase on 5 December at the Salamanca Arts Centre.
