Karina Precious is New York based Vogue and Burlesque dancer. She is a first and currently the only Vogue dancer from Ukraine, who moved to New York to pursue her passion to be the dance style of Voguing, that was originated in New York in 70s and is thriving now all around the world. Karina is also a passionate Burlesque dancer
I am a New York based dancer and entertainer, specializing in sensual and sexy dance routines and freestyle performances. I am a new to the NYC scene Burlesque performer. I am a part of a New York Voguing Ballroom scene and I frequently compete in Voguing competitions. I am experienced lingerie model and I incorporate my dance skills on the set.
Dear Burlesque Mag, I’d like to know if there are any burlesque shows in the general area of Washington DC, Northern Virginia, or Baltimore Maryland, happening in Autumn 2018. I’ve never had the chance to attend a real burlesque event, and I’d very much like to see one. I’m hoping that you might be able to point me to either a venue, a particular performance, or a local Washington DC or Baltimore burlesque troupe that I may be able to catch. We just wanted to introduce our burlesque club and burlesque group out of St. Louis Mo USA. We are a full time burlesque only club and dinner theater that performs five shows a week. Our in house troup is The Boom Boom Bomb shells. Me and my husband are a mix couple and we own, and produce it all. We have been doing this for seven years to about 10,000 people per year.
Seven years ago when we started, we found other performers in the area wanted to compete with slander on social media instead of twlent on the stage. So we with drew from “the community” and put our efforts in finding raw talent, creating burlesque performers from scrath, and creating a show that is entertaining to the average person. So seven years later we have a huge audience. But no one invites us to to vestibilles, yet we are performing to thousands each year. So I decided to reach out “to the community” and introduce our sevlvs. We do burlesque. And we do it well. In our silly little mid west town.
We do not do create burlesque shows for burlesque performers, we create shows for real people who want an entertainment experience on a weekend night or even our Sunday brunch show. I call this the difference beteen a show that is a featured brillint jazz guitarist, who has a small room or guitar players in the audience, as apposed to Britney Spears. Because of this idea, we are now looking to expand to other cities. Las Veagas. New York. We are now in a position to “take a chance” and introduce our selvs to other burlesque professionals.
We are here. We love Burlesque. We do it well. As well as we can with our midwest budget. We want to world to know that we are not afraid. We love what we do. And our customers and fans do to.
