Yoga And Pilates Added To Timetable
Maison Burlesque has expanded its regular timetable for Term 4 with the addition of yoga and Pilates classes at its Thornbury studio. All sessions are open level, catering to complete beginners through to those with existing experience.
To mark the launch, all yoga and Pilates classes throughout Term 4 are being offered at an introductory rate of $12 per class.
Three formats are on offer across the term.
Hatha Flow Yoga runs as an eight-week course and includes breathwork, yoga postures, flowing sequences and energy practices aimed at building strength, balance, flexibility and mental clarity. Options are provided throughout for different experience levels. Students need to bring their own mat, though a limited number of studio mats are available by prior arrangement.
Mat Pilates, also an eight-week term course, focuses on core strength, posture, flexibility and stability through floor-based exercises using controlled movement. Most exercises are bodyweight, with some classes incorporating small props such as resistance bands or balls. The school notes that students who have had recent surgery, a major injury, are pregnant or have recently given birth must have medical clearance before attending. Participants must be able to get on and off the floor.
Slow Flow into Yin Yoga begins with gentle flowing movement before transitioning into longer-held yin postures supported by props. The class incorporates breathwork, floor-based poses and awareness practices aimed at supporting flexibility and nervous system regulation.
The full class timetable and booking system are available on the school’s website.
