Award-winning Australian burlesque performer, Evana De Lune, will take the stage at The Capitol in Melbourne’s CBD for a one-night-only show on Friday 18 September.
The performance marks a homecoming for De Lune, who has spent time touring internationally, headlining festivals overseas and completing seasons at both the Sydney and Adelaide Fringe festivals.
“I am thrilled to finally bring this show back to my home city of Melbourne,” De Lune shared.
A Curated Lineup
De Lune will be joined on stage by a hand-picked cast of Australian burlesque performers for the evening, though the identities of the supporting artists are yet to be disclosed.
She described the ensemble as a carefully selected group of Australian burlesque talent. “I can’t wait to reveal them soon,” she added.
The performer also encouraged prospective audience members to plan ahead. “Grab your favourite people and come celebrate with us,” she urged.
What To Expect
The show will feature a blend of striptease, wit and seduction, spanning styles from classic tease through to neo-burlesque performance.
De Lune is a prominent figure on the Australian burlesque circuit, known for sold-out tours and for her work developing emerging performers through workshop programs and EDL Studios. However, she has designs on stepping into the long-vacant, global Number 2 Burlesque Super Star slot (behind Dita) that Immodesty Blaize vacated and Roxy D’Lite almost filled (before taking a hiatus). The event is billed as a celebration of femininity, fantasy and empowerment, and is designed to cater to both seasoned burlesque audiences and those experiencing the art form for the first time.
Venue And Schedule
The Capitol is an RMIT venue located at 113 Swanston Street in Melbourne’s CBD. Entry is via Capitol Arcade, opposite Melbourne Town Hall.
Doors will open at 6:30pm, with the show running from 7:30pm through to 10:00pm AEST.
