A new 594-seat semi-permanent theatre venue is set to open near Marble Arch this summer, launching with a season that includes Heathers the Musical and a return run of Burlesque the Musical.
The Arts at Marble Arch has been created by the team behind the historic Arts Theatre, which is currently closed for a major refurbishment. Rather than pausing programming during the redevelopment, the Arts Theatre will continue its work through the new venue, positioned between Oxford Street and Park Lane.
The project was conceived by Louis Hartshorn and Brian Hook as a way of carrying the Arts Theatre’s creative output into its 100th year while its original West End home is transformed.
Heathers opens the venue
The opening production will be Heathers the Musical, returning to London for a limited 52-performance season from 9 July to 22 August 2026 before heading out on a UK and Ireland tour.
Based on the 1989 black comedy film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, the musical follows Veronica Sawyer as she is drawn into the orbit of three powerful and cruel high school classmates, with darkly comic and devastating consequences. The show features book, music and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe, with direction by Andy Fickman.
Burlesque follows for extended run
Following Heathers, the venue will host the return of Burlesque the Musical, running from 12 September 2026 to 31 January 2027.
Adapted from the Christina Aguilera film and written by Steven Antin, the stage musical follows Ali as she arrives in New York City and is drawn into an underground world of music, dance and self-discovery. The production features songs by Christina Aguilera, Sia and Diane Warren, alongside new numbers by Todrick Hall and Jess Folley. Christina Aguilera serves as Executive Producer.
Family programming
The season will also include a daytime family offering, with Be Like Blippi playing from 5 to 23 August 2026, covering the summer holiday period.
The programming pairs a cult favourite musical with a large-scale commercial return and a family title, giving the venue a varied opening chapter. The lineup also signals the venue’s ambition to operate as more than a temporary stopgap during the Arts Theatre’s refurbishment, positioning The Arts at Marble Arch as a new presence in London’s musical theatre scene.
