Portland-based burlesque company Lacy Productions has been nominated across four categories in the Best of Portland awards, run by Willamette Week newspaper, as it prepares for a full calendar of shows stretching through to October.
The company’s flagship show Booklover’s Burlesque, along with the broader Lacy Productions brand and its Founder Lacy Knightly (also known as Nick Lacy), have received nominations in the Best Burlesque Show, Best Date Night Activity, Best Theater Company and Best Local Celebrity categories.
Voting, which is open to anyone and not restricted to Portland residents, closes on June 17. The nominations come as the production company rolls out a slate of new and returning shows across Portland and the Pacific Northwest.
Dapperlesque returns for Pride
The company’s next scheduled production is Dapperlesque: Pride Edition, a gender-bending burlesque cabaret set for Saturday, June 27 at the Alberta Rose Theatre on NE Alberta St in Portland.
The show draws performers from the burlesque, boylesque, draglesque and drag king communities. Attendees are encouraged to wear their finest pride-themed attire for the 8pm performance.
Dinner cabaret at the Victorian Belle Mansion
Lacy Productions will bring back The Belle Supper Club, its dinner burlesque cabaret, on Friday, July 10 at the Victorian Belle Mansion in Portland.
The show combines dinner, cocktails and cabaret entertainment within the mansion’s art nouveau interior. Tickets are on sale through the Lacy Productions website.
Banned books take centre stage
On Saturday, July 25, Booklover’s Burlesque returns to the Alberta Rose Theatre with an all-new Banned Books Edition for 2026.
The production focuses on books that have been censored or removed from bookshelves, framing the show around the theme of the freedom to read. The Banned Books Edition is a new instalment in the long-running Booklover’s Burlesque series.
Film tribute and haunted mansion shows round out the calendar
Cinemalesque, Lacy Productions’ burlesque tribute to film, is scheduled for Friday, August 14 at the Alberta Rose Theatre.
Later in the year, the company will stage Foolish Mortals, its haunted mansion-themed burlesque cabaret, across multiple venues and dates. The show plays one night at The Triple Door Theatre in Seattle on September 26, with VIP tickets for that performance already sold out. It then moves to the Alberta Rose Theatre in Portland for three nights on October 2, 3 and 4, before a final performance at Salem’s Historic Grand Theater on October 17.
