Sydney’s longest-running burlesque and cabaret night is set to return with a dedicated BIPOC edition, bringing together a lineup of performers spanning burlesque, circus, drag and comedy at Two80 Cabaret in Surry Hills.
Red Light Confidential: BIPOC Edition will take place on Thursday, June 25, with doors opening at 6:30pm and the show kicking off at 8pm. A happy hour running from 6:30pm to 7:30pm will offer 50 per cent off beers, wine, margaritas and house spirits, with premium spirits excluded.
The event is produced by Red Right Hand Entertainment and guest curated by Basjia, a multidisciplinary artist who has become a prominent figure in Sydney’s performance scene.
A 14-Year Legacy
Red Light Confidential has been a fixture on the Australian cabaret circuit for 14 years. Co-founded by Kelly Ann Doll and Michael Wheatley, the show began as an underground industry night before growing into what organisers describe as the country’s longest-running burlesque and cabaret event.
The show has picked up a string of awards in recent years, taking out the Best Cabaret Award at the Newcastle Fringe in both 2023 and 2024. It also won the 2025 NSW Burlesque Awards for Best Event.
The previous BIPOC Edition proved to be one of the more popular entries on the Red Light Confidential calendar, selling out completely. Organisers have urged audiences not to wait on tickets this time around, with VIP allocation already down to a handful of remaining seats.
The Lineup
The evening will be hosted by Basjia and feature a varied cast of performers from across Australia’s burlesque and cabaret communities.
Headlining the bill is Jade Monsoon, winner of the Apprentease NSW 2026 competition. Joining her is Dominica De La Muerte, who travels from Victoria as the Apprentease VIC runner-up.
The lineup also includes Trixie Twirls, Lotus, Raven, Zanzi, Dancing Daenara and Casa Terremoto.
A troupe performance by Sydney Bollywood, choreographed and led by Bolly Go Lightly, will round out the evening’s acts.
Basjia At The Helm Of Curation
Basjia, takes on the dual role of Curator and MC for the BIPOC Edition. Her performances span multiple artistic disciplines and communities, including ballroom, burlesque, the showgirl scene and pole. Her ongoing community work centres on elevating and platforming BIPOC art and artists across Australia.
She is also the creator of The Pyramid, an event built to prioritise BIPOC performers and provide ongoing performance and movement opportunities within Australia’s entertainment landscape.
Her involvement with Red Light Confidential’s BIPOC Edition reflects a broader push within the local cabaret scene to showcase diverse voices and ensure performance spaces are accessible to artists from a range of backgrounds.
Ticketing And Venue Details
The show will be held at Two80 Cabaret in Surry Hills, an intimate venue that has served as Red Light Confidential’s Sydney home.
Tickets are available through Eventbrite, with general admission and dinner-and-show packages on offer. VIP tickets are nearly exhausted.
Attendees should be aware that filming and photography will take place during the event. Purchasing a ticket is considered consent to being photographed. Anyone who prefers not to appear in footage is asked to contact organisers via email so seating arrangements can be adjusted where possible, though this cannot be guaranteed given the venue’s intimate layout.
