The Toronto Fringe Festival has outlined a packed schedule of free community events running from July 1 through July 11, 2026, with programming spread across multiple venues in the city’s Distillery District.
The lineup spans theatre criticism panels, burlesque revues, open mic nights, drag performances, skill-sharing workshops and a silent disco, all offered at no cost to attendees.
Among the highlights is a collaboration with the Toronto Burlesque Festival (TBF), which will present a roaming burlesque floor show as part of the Fringe’s daily community hub programming.

The Toronto Burlesque Festival has partnered with the Toronto Fringe Festival to stage Fringe Benefits, a pop-up burlesque performance at Old Flame Brewing Co. at 43 Tank House Lane on Saturday, July 4.
Doors open at 8pm, with the show running from 9pm to 11pm.
The show is curated by the Toronto Burlesque Festival and features a lineup of current and former TBF performers. The immersive floor show format will see performers weave through the crowd at the brewery venue.
The cast includes Belle Jumelles, who is the TBF’s 2025 Coco Framboise Trailblazer Award recipient, alongside Boom Boom!, Ingrid Moonshine, Ivory, Loretta Jean, Petra Liyahn and Zilly Lilly. Hosting duties fall to Forca, performing as the character Francis PP Foreskin.
The show is free to attend, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. The festival noted that tipping performers is welcome but not required. Attendees with accessibility concerns requiring seating can contact the organisers by email.
Festival Opens With Artist Parade And Launch Party
The Fringe Festival begins on Wednesday, July 1 with an artist parade at noon, followed by a launch party at 1pm. Both events take place at the Soulpepper Theatre Atrium, Cabaret and Courtyard at 50 Tank House Lane.
Participating artists have been invited to arrive in costumes from their shows, carrying poster boards or wearing clown noses. The launch party will feature face painting, a photo booth, tarot readings, clowns and music from DJ Jean-Paul, with shaved ice provided by Bryan Steele.
Busking performances by Fringe artists will also take place throughout the Distillery District on July 2, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
Theatre Criticism Under The Microscope
On Thursday, July 2, the festival hosts Criticism Catch-Up, a research presentation and roundtable discussion running from 5pm to 7pm at Old Flame Brewing Co.
Dr. Karen Fricker of Brock University and Dr. Scott Mealey of Crandall University will present their ongoing research into the state of theatre criticism in the Greater Toronto Area.
The session is designed to facilitate discussion between theatre professionals, critics, academics and audiences about how criticism can be sustained and developed within the current media landscape.
The same evening, Old Flame Brewing Co. will host its weekly karaoke open mic from 8pm.
Community Lounge Introduces Skill-Sharing Sessions
A recurring feature of the festival is its Community Lounge programming, held in Soulpepper Theatre’s TD Studio, where a series of skill-sharing workshops are scheduled throughout the run.
On Friday, July 3, the lounge launches with an Indie Artsworker Mixer from 5pm to 7pm, described as a casual networking event for independent arts workers.
Later that evening, the Tita Collective will host Mix Mix from 8:30pm to 10:30pm at Old Flame Brewing Co., a late-night game show format event where Fringe artists are interviewed and pitch their shows.
Saturday, July 4 features a zine-making workshop from 2pm to 5pm in the TD Studio.
A tarot reading and journaling session follows on Sunday, July 5 in the same time slot.
On Thursday, July 9, artist collective Peach Berserk will lead a DIY Fringe merchandise and silk screening workshop from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
The final skill-sharing session takes place on Friday, July 10, when Bikechain will run a DIY bike repair workshop from noon to 2pm in the Soulpepper Theatre courtyard.
Comedy And Queer Line Dancing Fill The Mid-Festival Calendar
Sunday, July 5 brings a comedy night to Old Flame Brewing Co. from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The show is hosted by Small Friend Tall Friend and features Curry Bradshaw, John Mostyn, Natasha Lyn Myles, Karis Anderson, Ada Nicolle and Keesha Brownie, with curation by Damien Nelson.
On Tuesday, July 7, queer line-dancing group, Spurs, arrives at Old Flame Brewing Co. from 6:30pm to 8:30pm to lead line-dancing instruction for all skill levels, with music continuing into the evening.
The same day, the TD Studio will host a game night from 4pm to 7pm featuring board games, card games and Torontron games, with a panel discussion run by Hand Eye Society from 6pm to 7pm.
Yoga Sessions Offer Mid-Festival Recovery
Two restorative yoga sessions are scheduled for the middle of the festival, on Monday, July 6 and Wednesday, July 8, both running from 4pm to 5pm in the TD Studio.
The sessions are led by Alex Karolyi of Shadowpath Theatre. Attendees are asked to bring their own mats.
Festival Week Closes With Awards And A Silent Disco
Friday, July 10 is awards night at Old Flame Brewing Co. from 6:30pm to 8pm, where the festival will recognise winners across several categories including Patrons’ Picks, Best of Fringe presented by TO Live, the Canadian Green Alliance’s Greenest in Fringe Award, the Strange Maker Award presented by What the Festival! and The Second City Award for Best Comedy.
Following the ceremony, Frat Haus performers Archie Called, Coyote Ugly and Andy Fetamean will host the festival’s first drag open stage from 9pm to 11:30pm, open to emerging, established and first-time drag artists.
The community programming wraps up on Saturday, July 11 with a silent disco at Old Flame Brewing Co. from 8:30pm to 11:30pm. The event, presented by Sound Off and sponsored by BES Executive Search, provides free headphones for attendees.
Toronto Burlesque Festival Flags Upcoming Plans
Beyond the Fringe partnership, the Toronto Burlesque Festival has signalled several developments on the horizon.
The full performer lineup for TBF 2026 is expected to be announced in the coming period. Applications for the TBF 2026 Vendors Market opened on June 26, and nominations for the Coco Framboise Trailblazer Award open on July 1.
